PSP (2016)

PSP

The PlayStation Portable was the first gaming device, received in early 2016. Sony's handheld had a library of over 1,000 titles and used UMD discs alongside downloadable games from the PlayStation Store. It had a 4.3-inch LCD screen, analogue stick, and full control set.

The PSP was the starting point for gaming as a sustained hobby rather than a casual interest.

Nintendo 3DS and 2DS (2018)

Nintendo 3DS

The Nintendo 3DS and its budget variant the 2DS were acquired in 2018. The 3DS featured a stereoscopic 3D upper screen that displayed depth without glasses. The 2DS removed the 3D capability and the clamshell hinge, offering the same software library at a lower price point.

Both devices ran the same library, which included first-party Nintendo titles alongside a large catalogue of third-party games.

PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 3 (2020)

PlayStation 3

A PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 3 were acquired in 2020. The PS2 is one of the best-selling consoles ever made, with a library exceeding 4,000 titles covering every genre. The PS3 added Blu-ray playback, online multiplayer via PlayStation Network, and HD gaming.

Both consoles have large back-catalogues from the late 1990s through the 2010s.

PlayStation 4 (2024)

A PlayStation 4 was added in 2024. The PS4 offered a modern library of current-generation titles and significantly better hardware performance than the PS2 and PS3 already in the setup.

PC (Late 2025)

The switch to PC gaming happened in late 2025. A PC opened access to multiple storefronts simultaneously:

Storefront Games in library
Steam 13
Epic Games Store 5
Ubisoft Connect 3
EA App 1
Microsoft Store 1

PC gaming is the current primary platform alongside the PS5.

PlayStation 5 (Late 2025)

A PlayStation 5 was acquired at the same time as the PC switch in late 2025. The PS5 is Sony's current-generation console with fast SSD loading, the DualSense controller with haptic feedback, and backwards compatibility with PS4 titles.

The PS5 runs alongside the PC as the current dual setup.
